Hearing Impairment
This disability includes students who have a hearing loss that interferes with learning and development of communication skills. This loss may be permanent or fluctuating. It may vary from severe to profound (deaf). The services are provided as itinerant resource or as a class program depending on the individualized needs of the student. Auditory communication devices are often part of the treatment program for students; included but not limited to: auditory trainers and/or hearing aids.
